FAQ

Common questions about appeals

Key information before you contact us.

How long do I have to appeal?
You have 7 days from service of the decision to appeal against a decision obliging a foreign national to return, commonly referred to as deportation. You have 14 days from service to appeal against a voivode’s negative decision in a residence case. Always check the instructions in the decision and contact us as soon as possible.
How do I appeal against deportation?
Formally, this is an appeal against a decision obliging a foreign national to return. It is addressed to the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard, but submitted through the commander of the Border Guard branch or post that issued the decision.
Can you also help with a residence card refusal?
Yes. We can review a refusal of temporary residence, permanent residence or EU long-term resident status and prepare an appeal within the agreed scope.
What information should I prepare for the first contact?
State the type of decision, its date of service and the deadline shown in the instructions. Do not send a passport scan or highly sensitive data through the standard form. We will agree on a secure document transfer method after the first contact.
What if the deadline has already passed?
We need to check the date and method of service and the course of the case. Only after review can we explain whether any action remains available. We do not guarantee that the deadline will be restored or the decision changed.
How much does an appeal cost?
Preparation of an appeal against a residence decision costs from PLN 800, and an appeal against deportation, formally a return decision, costs from PLN 1,000. We confirm the final price after reviewing the decision and documents.
