Frequently asked questions about Blue Card
The most common questions concern the conditions for receiving Blue Card, the required employment contract, the minimum salary, the change of employer and the possibility of obtaining permanent residence in the future.

What conditions do you have to meet to receive Blue Card?
Higher qualifications (a university diploma or at least 5 years of professional experience), a contract of employment or a civil law contract for a minimum of 1 year and a salary of at least 150% of the average salary in Poland should be provided.
What must be the salary amount for Blue Card in Poland?
The remuneration must be at least 150% of the average salary announced by the Central Statistical Office. This amount is updated each year and constitutes one of the key conditions for obtaining Blue Card.
Does Blue Card allow you to change your employer?
Yes, but in the first 2 years this requires notification or obtaining a new decision (depending on the situation). After this period, the change of employer is simpler, but still has to meet the Blue Card conditions.
How long is the Blue Card application pending?
The time of consideration is usually from a few months to a dozen months, depending on the office. In practice, the procedure is often prolonged, especially in the absence of formal requirements.
What documents are needed for Blue Card?
The basic documents are: application, valid passport, employment contract or job offer, qualification documents, salary confirmation and health insurance. Additional annexes may be required depending on the case.
